Where do we go to fall from grace? God put a smile upon my face
So this is freedom eh? Seems a little boring to me. Of course, this is only my third day of adulthood, so I'll try not to jump to conclusions. In some ways I can't wait to get to work. It'll be nice to be exhausted at the end of the day, and to know I earned something. I don't think I could stand being unemployed, this aimless wandering thing really weighs on you.
Yesterday I chilled with Caleb and Michelle all afternoon in Albany. Really the only thing we had to do was get Caleb some new shoes, but we managed to use up the whole afternoon. We also got to see Hannah at The Well, a Christian book store in downtown Albany. Going in there I was expecting quaint porcelain figures and weightless literature, but to my surprise there where some awesome books in there. The best part was seeing works by Chesterton, Tozer and Kierkegaard in the youth section.
Once we became bored in Albany we headed back to Lebanon and sat around Caleb's porch with Charlotte and Derek, Caleb's mom and step father, and smoked the outrageously expensive cigars we bought for graduation.
I have to say that I'm not a big fan of cigars. Half the time I've had a more pleasurable experience smoking a piece of rope, but these cigars.... were incredible. Dark, sweet, rich, and what seemed like a little bit of cocoa in the mix, well worth the investment.
All in all it was a good lazy day. I suppose there won't be many more of these for awhile, I'm glad I was able to spend it with such chill folks.
By the way, the cigars we had where called "Black Pearl" about 13.00 a piece, but for a great occasion like this, it was well worth it.
