Mark Driscoll kicks some major ba-yootock... again.

Mark Driscoll is a hero of mine. First of he's manly... IN SEATTLE! Second, he's been rumored to have had to wear a bullet proof vest behind the pulpit. Thirdly, He kicked some can in a Relevent Magazine artilce asking five prominent evangelical leaders thier views on the the future of the church in America. For the full article, buy the magazine, but he's just a taste of the goodness that is Mark Driscoll:

What do you see as the greatest challenge for young Christians in the next 10 years?

Mark Driscoll: There is a strong drift toward the hard theological left. Some emergent types want to recast Jesus as a limp-wrist hippie in a dress with a lot of product in His hair, who drank decaf and made pithy Zen statements about life while shopping for the perfect pair of shoes. In Revelation, Jesus is a pride fighter with a tattoo down His leg, a sword in His hand and the commitment to make someone bleed. That is a guy I can worship. I cannot worship the hippie, diaper, halo Christ because I cannot worship a guy I can beat up. I fear some are becoming more cultural than Christian, and without a big Jesus who has authority and hates sin as revealed in the Bible, we will have leass and less Christians and more and more confused, spiritually self-righteous blogger critics of Christianity.

OOH-RAH!...

Then I found out something terrible.

You Are a Soy Latte

At your best, you are: free spirited, down to earth, and relaxed

At your worst, you are: dogmatic and picky

You drink coffee when: you need a pick me up, and green tea isn't cutting it

Your caffeine addiction level: medium

A SOY LATTE! What would Driscoll think? I ain't no pansy! I'm a manly man! When has soy ever ment "Free Spirited"? Souldn't it be Absenthe or something? Soy is Birkenstocks and Grape Nuts and people in Bend with huge calves drinking out of nalgene bottles, and NPR....

Except, I do wear Simple. clogs, I do enjoy a little fiber in my diet, my calves are quite large and I can't miss my All Things Considered with Michele Norris and Robert Siegel! Maybe I am a little cultural, but when was "Christian" suppose to be a culture? That Pride fighter Christ is the one I am in love with... besides following Him, the rest just seem like details.

Grace and Peace
